Latest Release 'Kal Kisne Dekha" 29th May

After some flip-flop and a period of uncertainty around the release of the film, the D-day has been finalized. This Vashu Bhagnani film will now release on 29th May, around a month later than the earlier release date of 3rd April. This has been done after much deliberation as there were a couple of factors that had to be considered - a) Some of the work left in the post production of the film, b) The producers v/s multiplex revenue sharing issue.Confirms Jackky Bhagnani, the leading man of the film, "As of now, we are 100% sure about coming on 29th May. The date has been locked and the promotion is beginning as well. So what acted as a clincher for the final date? "We were waiting for while to get a crucial scene done at the airport which we finally did this Tuesday night. There were permissions awaited but finally things fell in place. The post production has taken a little extra time since the film requires a lot of special effects and CGI. For example, when I visualize a bomb, there are some graphics etc. involved. Now that we have been able to get the principal shoot in place, we can have the final stage of post production running and arrive on 29th May", details Jackky.Meanwhile, the battle between the producers and multiplex owners has reached it's second stage with the former party making it very clear that come April and no new Bollywood films will be released. While Kal Kissne Dekha was one of the first films to arrive on 3rd April, other biggies impacted would be Tasveer 8X10, Shortkut - The Con Is On, Jashn and Paying Guest.Says a source, "Vashuji [Bhagnani] has been with the producers association on this. Even though it's his son's launch pad, he isn't worried much about it being delayed by a while. He wants to set an example and is united in the stand of other filmmakers."With the tussle being expected to be resolved in next few weeks, the promotion of Kal Kissne Dekha will go ahead full steam only after the final resolution is in place."We are hoping for the best here", says an insider from Kal Kissne Dekha, "We are passionate about the film but not willing to bend our back. It's okay for the film to arrive a month later. We will get entire machinery in place to ensure that the film gets its due and the right market once it arrives on 29th May."

Shilpa Shetty 'shines' on Vogue cover this month

"Kabhi kabhi jeetne ke liye kuch haarna bhi padta hai ....aur haarkar jeetne walon ko Baazigar kehte hain"
If you were to guess the name of the cover girl of the latest edition of Vogue, the above line would definitely make sense. Not just for the reason that it's from her debut film but also because it suits her more than to anyone else this season. With her IPL team Rajasthan Royals' not making it to the finals, Shilpa Shetty did face a defeat recently. But, not the one to sob, Shilpa is raring to go and how! She can be seen sizzling while looking her curvaceous best on the cover of the recent edition of Vogue.
If the title 'The Business of being Shilpa Shetty' is anything to go by, then, it's totally needless to say that the story angle is surely tilting to more of Shilpa - the businesswoman as compared to Shilpa - the actress. Validating this is none other than her 'Prince Charming' Raj Kundra, who says "I saw the international appeal Shilpa had and suggested she make a brand of herself. She's taken to business like a fish to water. I call her India's Martha Stewart".
While talking about the change in her life, Shilpa says, "I like the idea of reinventing myself, of moulding and enhancing one's personality...I am not someone you would call a conventional beauty". To read more about Shilpa - the businesswoman, pick up the latest copy of Vogue.

Amir Khan is now set to star in his first Hollywood film with Oscar winning actress Kate Winslet.

In this film Pan Nalin will show the funny side of an Indian mental asylum in 1947 during the partition of India. The film is based on a Pakistani play "Toba Tek Singh" bySadat Hasan Manto.Kate Winslet is on the top for this film but I don’t think that she will be as good as any other bollywood actresses against Amir.
If she rejects this film then Nalin has plane to contact Rachel Weisz to play the role
Either Kate or Rachel will be doing my film. I will be meeting both of them after my Cannes trip to finalise the casting. Either of them will be able to do justice to this marvellous story," said Nalin.

Amir Khan's Films Raakh Gonna Re-Release After 20 Years

When a film releases it is left to the audience to decide its fate; whether the film becomes a hit or a flop is all a mystery best left to time. However, 20 years on, a film that was once released and vanished without a trace will see the light of the day again. The film is in question is an Aamir Khan starrer titled Raakh.
Raakh was came out in 1989 to critical acclaim and was widely covered by the film critics in the media. It was a project of great importance for many of the cast and crew members who made their debut with this movie. When we contacted Sangeeth Sivan, the Executive Producer of the film, he said, "The entire film is shot like it's a home video. It does star Aamir in the lead, though it is a bit dark."
The movie acted as a crucial platform for many debutants like Aamir Khan, Santosh Sivan (Cinematographer), Sreekar Prasad (Editor), , Aditya Bhattacharya (Director) & Asif Noor (Producer) all of who were under 30 years of age at the time. The commendable fact is that Aditya Bhattacharya, who just 23 then, became the youngest director of Bollywood at that time winning the Best Directorial debut award from the Bengal Film Journalists' Association.
Raakh deals with an Indian Metropolis that is decaying, lawless and tragically corrupt. A typical party ends in untypical violence. Aamir is awkwardly sensitive and inarticulate. Supriya Pathak, the poised distant girl whom Aamir loves with mad desperation, is gang raped. She is a survivor. Disillusioned and practical, she rules out revenge. Supriya has now grown beyond Aamir. Aamir, driven by impotent rage, hesitantly approaches the law. Only to learn that the rapists are the ruling mafia clan whom neither he nor the police can touch while he is violently uprooted from his safe, if lonely, upper class home. Thus begins the chaotic journey that takes him into the precarious outer world. Here, his only friend, a street urchin offers him mute sympathy until Pankaj Kapur- an embittered cop - cynical witness to the first outrage is goaded by his anesthetized conscience to search out Aamir. An adolescent seeking manhood and the older man seeking his lost innocence come together...
The rights for the film Raakh which were originally with the director, Aditya Bhattacharya, have been purchased by Audacity International and Storm. Initially though, Sangeeth Sivan and Asif Noor, the producers of the film, had planned on launching the film on a collectors DVD. However, after purchasing the rights for the same, Audacity International has reworked on the original reels and has digitally re-mastered it. Raakh is all set to re-release on the 12th of June.
